Summer and Facebook

Summer is in full swing around the farm!
That means....
Watermelon for dessert
Water trough swimming pools
Misters on the animals
Lots of grilled dinners
Early early morning chores to beat the heat
and a cicada sirenade at night.
Speaking of grilling out, you should totally try wrapping some asparagus bundles with our fresh bacon rasied right out on our farm. Sprinkle it with a little salt and pepper, use a toothpick to hold it together, throw it on the grill until the bacon is nice and crispy, and you are in HEAVEN. It's delicious and happens to be one of our favorites right now.
(Grilled Thick Pastured Pork Chops, Mashed Sweet Potatoes, and Asparagus Bundles wrapped in Fresh Pastured Bacon....A-mazing!)

We keep reminding ourselves that WE ARE RUNNING A MARATHON when the task of setting up a new farm seems daunting and overwhelming.
This is not a quick sprint.
If there is one underlying theme to farming that we've learned over the years it is this- farming requires patience. The fruit that your labor produces is often not visable until the next season or even the next year. In a modern society that is all about things being faster, this was a hard concept for us initially.
The new farm store is getting a facelift and more power! We expect it to be open within the next few weeks.
We've officially conquered the monumental task of getting each and every single animal moved over to the new farm.
Thank you for being along for the ride and growing with us. We continue to press forward with grateful hearts for each of you! We are loving the new farm and can't wait to see some of your faces here this summer!
I'll end with a shameless plug to "Like" us on Facebook! It's often much much much easier to upload photos and write things connecting us to our customers on Facebook since most of our time is spent in the pastures with a cell phone in hand and not near a computer. So head on over to our Facebook page and "Like" us HERE. Thanks for the interwebs L O V E!

Summer is definitely the most awesome season of the year because you can swim all day and grill barbecue outside. The fun thing about summer and a farm is that you don't get muddy at the end of the day.
